Kimberley Centre for Culture, Art & Story Update

Investigations into the development of the Kimberley Centre for Culture, Art and Story continue with the 6th project update being released.

Emerging interpretation themes for the centre are focused on telling all the stories of the Kimberley, celebrating its multiculturalism through traditional cultural practices, stories, language, natural history, pearling, mining, pastoralism and early European settlement all told through the common thread of indigenous eyes.

The centre will address issues of racial conflict, land tenure, self-determination, land conservation, the Dreaming and the rich cultural diversity that is unique to the Kimberley. The themes would be both engaging and confronting and invite visitors to reconsider their perspectives on the Kimberley and its culture.
