During 2017 Broome was invited to ‘Paint the Town Red’ at a monthly trial for late night trading in Chinatown.

The sentiment of all involved in the 2017 trials was positive, with surveys of traders and community members assisting to identify ideas for improvement. Many surveyed believed that evening trade allowed people the opportunity to shop outside of work hours.

The survey also highlighted dark spots where lighting should be installed, the need for more food options and building general atmosphere.

In 2018 plans are underway to mature Late Night Trading in Chinatown to help realise the potential for this to become an ongoing event.
