What a difference a month makes! All the roads in Chinatown are now fully re-opened to traffic and we’re finishing off footpaths, terraces and landscaping throughout the project area. Here’s a street-by-street look at what’s happening as we approach the last few weeks of the project.

The new Roebuck Bay Lookout at the corner of Dampier Terrace and Frederick Street will be the first project under the banner of the Broome Chinatown Revitalisation to start construction, and is out for tender in February 2018.

In 2017, Broome was invited to ‘Paint the Town Red’ at a monthly trial for late night trading in Chinatown. The sentiment of all involved in the 2017 trials was positive, and planning is now underway to continue late night trading in 2018.
